Worthwhile Articles

  • Paul Sporer released his top 100 outfielders. Notable items: Teoscar Hernandez ranked 35th, placing him lower than his relative ADP; Adam Duvall listed higher than expected
  • FakeTeams put out a list of 2B to avoid: Keston Hiura, Jake Cronenworth, and Garrett Hampson.

Kevin Pillar signing with New York Mets

Current Mets OF group: Dominic Smith, Brandon Nimmo, Michael Conforto, Albert Almora, and Kevin Pillar.

Pillar + Almora also provided defensive replacement options late in games. Could this impact Dominic Smith and/or Pete Alonso (making assumption Smith could shift to 1B)

Andrew Vaughn competing for roster spot?

Need to look into the idea that Vaughn could be competing for the DH job in Chicago. If he nabs that from the beginning of the season (or maybe even after the first few weeks) he could easily outpace his current ADP (need to look, but went round 21 in a recent draft I did)

Robinson Chirinos signs with Yankees on minor league deal

Worth a 45th-50th round pick? Have been targeting Manny Pina or Willian Astudillo as my possible 5th catcher.

C.J. Cron signs minor league deal with Rockies

I already liked Cron (1 share in two leagues so far), and this may be the best landing spot (Colorado, thin competition)

Matt Shoemaker signed with Minnestoa Twins

Shoemaker’s not appeared in many games last few seasons. Still, possibly worth a late pickup in 50-round drafts?
